I had some color problems with my TV recently and Costco suggested I bring it in. I expected to simply it swap it out but in fact they gave me a full refund. Wow! That was impressive - absolutely no hassle.
I bought the TV about six months ago, so of course you can now buy "more TV" with the same amount of $$$. In fact, I could get a 62" Toshiba DLP for the same price I paid for the 56" Samsung DLP.
An unintended windfall for being on the cutting edge, I suppose, although bringing in a broken 56" TV was not hassle-free.
But here was the dilemma. I could get the 62" Toshiba (or similar Mitsubishi) or I could get the same 56" TV and also get a new Dyson vacuum cleaner at no extra cost. Hmm . . .
We bought a Miele vacuum about eight years ago. It was very expensive and at the time I figured it was the absolute last vacuum we would ever buy. However, the complaints started to roll in and one day it was "accidentally" driven over in the garage. There was no doubt we needed a new one, so purchasing the Dyson was somewhat inevitable.
I called my brother and presented the dilemma. Should I just accept the TV windfall and upgrade to a 62" with no cost? The 62" was not 1080p and did not have multiple HDMI inputs, so really it was just a size upgrade. He framed the decion like this - look at the utility of an extra 10% of screen area compared to the utility of a new vacuum (that I would eventually buy anyway for ~$500). Based on that it was clear to go with the same TV for less money and get the Dyson.
Do you agree?
I agree completely, No HDMI inputs and extra space to deal with, no way! Samsung is a better unit anyway
