When we moved into this house last summer one of the things that caught our eye was this great water feature. It's a six foot or so pond with a long winding gentle waterfall. Someone had spent a great deal of time (and money) on it but it was stagant with a non-working pump.
Now that we're thawing out here into a great spring I was determined to get it working. I went off to the local Lowe's (of carpet installer fame) and bought a nice 1300 GPH pump. The old pump was glued onto a 1" PVC pipe so I had to saw it off with a hacksaw with one foot in the pond. I plugged in the new pump and ran a power cord to an outdoor GFCI plug and plugged it it. The pump started and then . . . the water started to come down the waterfall! Wahoo!
I was really proud of myself when I looked in the pond and saw something shiny. My new T-Mobile SDA was resting comfortably at the bottom of the pond. Doh!
I rescued it and turned it off. Next morning I powered it up and it worked fine. Let's call it a draw, Mr Pond.
The Pond and Me; That would make a great movie! replacing something and getting really into the job, sometimes causes other deficencies, as what happened. However, things worked out great and the waterfall looks fantastic!! Great Job!!
