Sometimes Digital Dads need to do analog things.
I returned from 3GSM to hear about the dishwasher.
"Not working."
We're do for a kitchen remodel in the near future so I'm not inclined to a) buy a new one or b) pay someone $100 to come over and "take a look".
OK, let's break it down. Dishes remain dirty after the cycle completes. Hmm...water is spraying around but not draining. Likely there's a clog in the drain pipe. I found the pipe under the sink cabinet but not in a place I could really get at it. Pulling the dishwasher out only went so far - the hose was too short for me to get to it from there (how did they install this thing?)
I removed the lower front cover just for kicks and sure enough there was the drain hose where it connects to the basin. It was prety well wound up in there (hence the inability to pull out the unit). However, I unclamped the hose and removed it...oops! Forgot to remove the water from the washer so there's a nice spill.
Clearing the tube was fun - I basically just blew really hard into it. I ran some water into it and it seemed ok. Reassembled the deal and ran a test. Voila! Clean dishes. Minor mess. No electricity involved!
Pete,
Cool, so a bent hose and a little "Blow job" to clean it up and it worked, good deal!
