We took our 2004 Nissan Quest in for its first check up at 3750 miles today. Just changed the oil and checked it out.
I did notice that we had a slow leak in the front left tire. I was notified by the Quest's tire pressure sensors, which told me that I was down to 27 psi when I should have been at 34 psi. If you have that system it's good to show which tire is low, otherwise you're checking each one, not sure which one is triggering the sensor. Turned out there was a nail in the tire - doh!
When I got home from work tonight I decided to try to tackle the Homelink set up again. When we first bought the Quest I noticed it had buttons on the rear view mirror to open the garage door, however I spent a good deal of time with it and still couldn't get it set up.
Tonight I checked the manual and it said "press the first and third buttons until the red light flashes slowly, about 20 seconds." I held them both and soon the light started flashing - quickly. I turned on the engine an tried it again...same result. I forged ahead anyway and clicked the opener while I held down the first button. Once you do that the light is supposed to stop flashing - but it started to blink slowly. Uh oh.
Finally I guessed that I might have a rolling code type garage door opener. I found and pressed the code reset button on the garage opener unit itself. I got back in the car and read "You now have 30 seconds to perform the next step after pressing the reset button. I quickly read ahead and held down the first button "up to three times" at it said in the manual (what does that mean?).
At this point I was ignoring the light - blinking, flashing or whatever.
I held down the first button on the rear view mirror and . . . it worked! Cool.
