Minor crisis tonight as my son tried to print out some neat images from the Disney web site and the printer came back with an error about the ink. I used a "non-Epson", yet compatible cartridge in the Epson printer and all was fine for a month or so, but now the printer is saying that the cartridge is not recognized.
I popped open the top of the printer (this was fascinating for my son) and took out the cartridge. I shook it and could tell there was plenty of ink in there.
Nevertheless, the Epson printer has caught onto my "scam" and will now force me to shell out $$$ for a real Epson cartridge. I had this happen on an HP printer as well so the lesson is learned - resistance is futile!
